Of all the books in the ’60-minute series ‘ by Frankwatching & Haystack, this is the one I was looking forward to the most. A book that tells me or my clients how to come to a good social media strategy in 60 minutes of reading time. I devoured the book. Does the book live up to its promise? Do you have a strategy in an hour? And for whom is the book suitable? You can read it in this review.

Contents of the book

Duursma starts the book with a call to seize the opportunities of social media. In it, he calls on both individuals and sms gateway brazil  companies to see the benefits and use social media to achieve their own goals. Various technical terms such as Paid , Owned and Earned Media are also explained. This introduction – which may be a bit long for advanced users – makes the book very suitable for novice social media users and marketers. What becomes very clear is that there is no excuse for not using social media. That is the power of this introduction.

The core of the book, in my opinion, is in the strategic step-by-step plan. Duursma describes 7 steps that should be included in every social media strategy. Each step is also provided with best practices and therefore comes to life.

 

The steps speak for themselves, read the book for application possibilities and tips. Each step is discussed in detail. This part is therefore the most valuable for me. Duursma takes everything step-by-step, including a sober look at social media. Don’t expect hallelujah stories. Fortunately, the author also sees that not every step will be easy for every company.

From my own practice

One of my clients struggled with social media. It didn’t really get off the ground, even though they had invested enough time and money in it. Still, it didn’t work. It wasn’t until the strategic session that it became clear why. They had never thought about WHO they wanted to reach at a company level. Step 3 of the 7- clean email   step plan had not been filled in. After a heated discussion, that became clear and at the end of the day, concrete agreements were made about what they would and wouldn’t do from now on. A few of the communication advisors present had to swallow hard.

As a company, you need to use social media to achieve your goals.
